“We are disheartened that a small group of rumor peddlers and gossips are being given another opportunity by the media to hurl malicious, made-up stories. Unlike the self-promoters behind this orchestrated campaign, the Church respects the religious beliefs of others and the privacy of parishioners. Numerous myths, gossip, rumors and falsehoods regurgitated over the last few days have their origins with a small collection of obsessive fringe bloggers exploiting others to promote self-serving hateful agendas.
Scientology is a new religion enjoying explosive growth. In recent years we have opened 37 new Churches in major metropolitan areas and cultural centers in a dozen nations. This year will see many more milestones in the months to come. Mr. Miscavige is a visionary who has brought our Church through the most difficult time of any religion—the passing of its founder—to a Church dedicated and committed to parishioners and the achievement of its religious, social and humanitarian missions on a global scale.
Our Churches are open seven days a week and many have public display areas to answer questions about the Church. Many of those questions can also be answered at our website, http://www%5Bdot%5DScientology.org
As for your specific questions, they are insulting and offensive. Mrs. Miscavige continues her work in the Church as she always has. The stale rumor being circulated by unreliable bloggers about her was answered definitively by her counsel a year ago and published in Us Magazine and The Telegraph in the UK, as you can see here: http://www%5Bdot%5Dusmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/5-things-you-dont-know-about-scientology-leader-david-miscavige-201257, and here: http://www%5Bdot%5Dtelegraph.co.uk/news/9441711/Mrs-Shelly-Miscavige.html
We do not expect you to take this matter up as it is truly out of line.
As for Ms. Remini, we have previously supplied our comment: The Church respects the privacy of parishioners. We do not believe an individual’s private spiritual matters should be exploited for personal gain by a handful of self-promoters who surface to spout the same tired tabloid myths.”
The Church of Scientology, Inc. is a Cult on steroids.
Church of Scientology Organizations the world over are insolvent. Their staff members are paid less that a living wage ( and in many cases less than minimum wage ) while forced to work far in excess of a full time work week under threat of punishment.
Sea Organization members are overworked, sleep deprived, malnourished, and living under constant emotional duress, threat of physical punishment and often times physical punishment. Many of them are being detained against their will as I write this. These Sea Org members are paid less than $50US per week and are not allowed to communicate freely to family members and loved ones, let alone have any unmonitored personal time. Slavery and human trafficking are the orders of the day in the slave camps of Clearwater, Florida; Hemet, California and Los Angeles, California. What of their Human Rights?
Meanwhile, the taxes demanded of glib parishioners go to funding a troop of thugs enlisted to intimidate some individuals who had enough of the abuse and decided to leave.
The Church of Scientology is not L. Ron Hubbard’s brand of Scientology. The Religious Technology Center (RTC), while utterly failing at its stated purpose to “Protect the public from misapplication of the technology and to see that the religious technologies of Dianetics and Scientology remain in proper hands and are properly ministered”, executes the edicts of a madman named David Miscavige.
The Sea Organization has utterly failed to safeguard the OT Levels or put Ethics in on the planet. They cannot put their own Ethics in.
Thanks to Tom Cruise and David Miscavige and their antics vis a vis Katie Holmes, ABC Los Angeles has finally grown bold enough to run a story church pressure has kept suppressed for more than a year. They have finally run the remarkable story of Tanja and Stefan Castle. Tanja served many years as a secretary for Miscavige. Here is the story of the Great Escape of Tanja Castle. Here is a written summary of the story, Tanja and Stefan Castle.
UPDATE 7/10/12 1:30 PM: Sinar Parmen and Gary “Jackson” Morehead corroborate security lock down character of Scientology Inc.’s international headquarters: Inside Edition on the Int Base.
